Help with verb "To Be"

 

Hi
Singular
I am a student. -------------> I am a 36 years old.
You are a teacher. ------------> You are the teacher.
He is a friend.
She is a woman
It is a chair.

Plural
We are worker+s.
You are student+s.
They are people.-----------> They are a People

I am 36 years old.

You are a people means "you are a nation". Note the following:
You are a good person. (singular)
You are good people. (plural)
