Some, any y every; some, any, every + -body / -one, -thing y -where (nivel medio)

 

A  Some se utiliza en oraciones afirmativas: I want some sugar. También en oraciones interrogativas que sean peticiones u ofrecimientos, o cuando esperamos una respuesta afirmativa:
      Would you like some tea?
      May I have some coffee?
      Are there some mice? I think I've just seen one.

 

B  Any se usa en oraciones interrogativas que no sean del tipo que acabamos de mencionar arriba: Did you sell any onions? También, en oracions negativas o con el significado de "cualquiera" (o "cualesquiera"):
      I don't want any milk.
      You can take any lighter you like.

 

C  Fíjese en esta tabla:

nombres contables nombres incontables
singular: a o an*
plural: some / any
 some / any
*Si la palabra siguiente comienza por sonido vocálico, hay que emplear an. Si es consonántico, a. Ejemplos: a cat , an apple.

 

D  Los compuestos de some y any actuarán de la misma manera:
      I have seen somebody.
      Have you seen anybody?
      I have not seen anybody.

 

E  Nunca haremos dos negaciones a la vez:
      I saw nothing.
      I did not see anything.
      *I did not see nothing
no se puede decir.

 

F  Si la oración tiene un sentido general, se construye sin some o any:
      I don't like meat.
      They love fast cars.
      Fruit is very good for the human body.

 

G  Every significa "cada" o "todos":
      I go there every day.
      Everybody enjoyed the party.
      Everything went wrong.
      She has been everywhere in the world.

d   __________loves me. I feel very miserable.
